When He comes again, where will you be?
Where will your heart live –
In man’s frozen chamber?
A cell of your own making?
On a high mountain top, breathing the air of solitude and peace?
In His sanctuary of goodness, radiating beams of blessed light?
In a fortress of greed and deceit?
In the warmth of a loving, forgiving family?
In the comfort of a friend’s loyalty?
In the anger of the avenger?
In a spirit that searches for truth?
In the service of our neighbours, brothers and sisters?
In pursuit of self-aggrandisement?
In the company of the lonely and support of the lost?
In the neglect of the weak?
In the home of the marginalised and the shelter of the poor?
In the entourage of the famous and the shadow of the rich?
In the trap of materialism, denial and fear?
In the abyss of panic, shock and unbelief?
In the coldness of indifference, arrogance and doubt?
In the darkness of selfishness?
In the simplicity of a child-like trust?
And in the brilliance of Hope’s enduring rays?
 
For He promised us The Way of Life and Freedom and Love:
 
‘He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, everyone who pierced Him; and all tribes of earth will wail on account of Him’.
‘I am the Alpha and the Omega, who is, who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.’
