The weather in France is unseasonably weird. In England, storms batter the country. Many parts of the world are suffering – Floods and landslides, torrential rain, desperate heat, Unimaginably ferocious forest fires, and fire in the sea. Autumnal conditions in the middle of summer! Our hearts are raging, our minds toss and turn, For we are oddly expectant – but for what? Change is never easy; something we may fear – But now, change is striking like an enemy. Where is steadiness, peace, predictability? In whom and in what, can we trust our hearts? Consolation is far from us; desolation is near. We ponder the years gone by - were they any different? We find ourselves overwhelmed by the unknown. Do we act? Do we wait? Do we set up our defences? We pray, hope and trust in the Creator of life… Pray and pray and pray – on our knees, with heads bowed down. Repent, forgive, and look towards His radiant Light… For it will come.
