The Greatness of God

Strong storms brought strong winds to the Spanish coast.
Ivory froth smacked into brave bathers.
Sun sparkled on the blue, mesmerising beauty –
intoxicating, vibrancy of life!
Menacing waves rolled, crashed on to the sand.
The turn of the tide brought instability – pulled legs and arms
away from the shore.
Suddenly the Mediterranean floor disappeared –
our feet were no longer on comforting sand.
We faced the beach and dragged ourselves towards safety.
Everything was so sudden – danger unforeseen, unexpected.
The perfect sea continued to create a tapestry of colours and textures – deep blue and turquoise, white foam and spray.
Windsurfers were in love with their sport –
diving, jumping, flying, and landing with huge fountain splashes.
They were beautiful to watch – no fear, the wind was their friend.
Orange, red, white, golden sails met their match! What joy!
On this September afternoon,
purple hazy mountains could be seen in the distance –
sitting majestically, they showed off their undulating shadows,
different sizes and varying densities of shade.
This picture completed our wonder of God’s perfect creation!
The blue skies were streaked with white – and the powerful winds
created staccato patterns across the sky – a stunning sight!
Are we in Heaven?
No… not yet…
But God has promised so much more than this world has to offer!
This is truly only the beginning – more than our imagination can create.
Find Him whilst there is time, for all the good that we see, is a pale reflection of the unfathomablerichness and greatness of God!
