A bell is ringing – can you hear it? In my prayers its sweet sound echoes gently in my heart. For whom does it cry - The faith-filled child of Christ? The faithless stone of the lost? The raging fire of unbelief? The innocent souls torn from life? For whom does it toll? Jesus’ tears are falling...gently He weeps. His heart is breaking For the pain we inflict on each other cuts deep. The bell is still ringing – can you hear it? The mother is weeping for her children. Mary weeps for her Son, Who gave His life for us. The child for his father; the sister for her brother - so broken are we! The bell resonates loudly now, for time is running out. Hear it! Let it speak to you and awaken your soul. Let it reach the hearts of all who search - for He is coming back, as He promised, on the clouds of Heaven! And the angels will sing, ‘Alleluia’. Jesus, the Risen King, is with us. No longer does the bell toll for death, but life! Alleluia! Amen! Amen! Amen! Julie Hughes © 2019, Magdala, Israel April, 2019
