The waves, sharply white and frothy, hug the rippling water. The sea churns up green. Its stunning brightness hits the darkening sky, where clouds hover and refuse to move. Blue and grey patches merge and re-arrange. The surfers are out, loving the power of the sea’s offering. They catch the waves as they start to roll and break - like fish, they ride the cascading whites. So breath-taking; so mesmerising. How I love to watch the sea in motion! As the water changes colour and texture, small figures balance like dancers on the tips of the curling dives. Oh, the sea! What beauty God has given to us to enjoy! Captivating, invigorating, dynamic and free! Art in the extreme - living art, moving rhythmically, with power. At times, a dangerous beauty and a calm refreshment. The sun forces through the darkness, making the surface of the waves light and bright. God cannot be overcome. Light will break through and transform. He is power. He is beauty. He is strength. He is life. Juliehughespoetry©june2023porthtowan
