On the mountain top, there is peace
The air is pure, the wind gently blows
The sky is clear – blue like the oceans, filtered by white-streaming clouds
And the silence penetrates the soul
This peace is unearthly, for detachment hushes the world’s noise
Voices which issue demands, commands, influence, persuasion…
Here, I will listen to my God, for He will awaken my soul
And move the weight which presses down and the walls which are closing in,
with their deafening intensity
Here, there is freedom, beauty, hope…
I breathe, inhaling deeply all which can replenish, restore and renew
My spirit awaits His gentle voice
Expectantly, I sit and ponder – I pray, calling on His name…
And allow stillness to envelop me completely.
