MAGDALA, ISRAEL – APRIL 2019

MAGDALA 2019...POEM March 24

‘If you remain silent, the very stones will cry out.’ (Luke 19:40)
Oh that today you would hear, and listen to His voice!
He speaks joy and peace and life.
Mercy is His heart – our God of love.

But how we try to silence His life-giving words of truth!

Watch the Son rise; see the Son set –
For our wonderful Creator is empowering His followers.
The Son has risen and His Kingdom is set.
And nothing, absolutely nothing, can come against Him.
‘Be not afraid,’ He gently whispers...
As He encourages us from the rocky shores of life.
Step from the water; put your feet on solid ground.
The once-raging sea is moving calmly now, at His command.
For Jesus is peace.

Oh Magdala, where Jesus walked and talked!
People sought the ‘One Who saves’ for words of wisdom and healing hands and a giving heart. And, so graciously, He taught.

And now, you are claiming a place once made holy by His very presence –
Gifts of miracles, promises of joy and everlasting life; and an encounter with His Holy gaze – from eyes which penetrate the very depth of a soul, now converted by Love.
The pathways are still dusty; our hearts are still dry – oh, God, how Your creation thirsts for living water!
Come pour into us anew and wash away our sin. Flood us with forgiveness and Truth, that we may be healed; made whole...
That we may see with new eyes,
And hear with new ears,
And listen with new understanding,
And so love You, with the hearts You made for love!
Amen.
