Life – so many expectations, so many challenges, so many joys
And then, the hurts and the struggles; the pain and the disappointments.
 
Myriad adventures of mind, body and spirit –
How extraordinary and amazing; wonderful and intoxicating!
 
From birth to the grave, we stumble and fall
But we push on, raise our heads and walk tall
For life is life is life – and time continues
And the clock ticks and the inevitable awaits us all.
 
But where do we find our hearts in the crazy paving of the years!
Fragile, broken, made whole and made new –
For our God of Wonders pours out His Spirt –
To bless, to heal, to expand, and to fill with rainbow colours
And shafts of incredible lights - iridescent and bright:
Light from Light and Love from Love
 
Oh, what peace we have as we crash and burn, renew
and break free, for the chains that weigh heavy disappear
as we glide towards the threshold of hope
 
Gentle steps, persistent paces, eyes fixed –
For we scale walls and surface, clear above stormy seas,
And He – our Lord and God – is always there…waiting.
With arms wide open, He welcomes us
As we make our final movements towards the sanctuary -
Our blessed home in the city of our God.
