For our dying son: PRAYER: 6 April 2017
“Truly I tell you,” He said, “unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Then the little children were brought to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them and pray for them; and the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of heaven” belongs to such as these. And after He had placed His hands on them, He went on from there.… Matthew 18/19
A child, Jesus, is caught between Heaven and Earth
Greatly loved, he is floating, drifting…
You are calling him.
His family is calling him, begging him to stay.
Hearts are breaking into tiny pieces –
Hearts, being fractured, which can never again be perfectly fixed.
But cracks are being filled with golden, everlasting love.
Already his life is on the cusp
For Heaven needs these pure and perfect spirits.
But have mercy, Jesus, for you are mercy and love
We plead, we pray, exhort…
Leave him here a while longer
For he is too beautiful, too loved, too needed to be given back, right now.
Leave him here a while longer, for we are too broken to mend.
This amazing gift is our life, our love –
On loan for a short time, we know.
But time has passed all too soon.
Give us more time; fill us with hope…please?
Jesus, we need Your miracle – a miracle of life
Do not leave us downcast, without hope.
Raise him up. Heal him, in Your Most Holy Name!
‘Nothing is impossible with God’ (Luke 1) – and You are in, and from, the Father.
Hear us, Son of God, we pray.
We praise You, we bless You and we adore you. Show Your power and love, now.
