Lies – Sept 2019

You sap me dry, when I hear the lies
spoken as if they were truth.

Oh, breaking hearts!
stabbed by cruel nails
by vicious words - often overheard -
spread by false-smiling lips... of spite and hate

contemplate now, how devilish is the plot
to spoil God’s Chosen Ones!
Banishing good, and inviting the dark
to cover His Glory, by making up stories
which defame, outrage and shame.

Be careful what comes out from within
for ‘Grace abounds where sin is found’.  (Romans 5:20)
No lie or hate can stand
for the Mighty One, with His flaming hand will destroy and burn
the enemies of truth; the enemies of love -
for all true power, comes only from God above!

When Twitter and Facebook dominate the press
(taking our freedom away)
and when emails and texts crafted in seconds are sent
Truth becomes imprisoned with lies.

And lives are broken and knots of confusion, tied -
for misrepresentation and misunderstanding
are declared by  damning roots of sin.
And the devil’s claws seek to twist and entwine
whilst division exposes his malevolent grin.
And terrible sounds of his demonic din
clash and deafen, as we resist being healed
by Love’s truth and the justice of God.

Fall down on your knees; beg for mercy
for our God sees right through the heart.
Claim life, not death – for He offers it free.
Come with honesty, forgiveness - and genuine tears
for the Holy One, Jesus, holds the only key!
