LET’S TALK ABOUT DEATH NOV. 2017

Let’s talk about death
Because it stings like a bee
And comes suddenly upon you
No warning - you’ll see!

But where is the fear?
For Heaven awaits
More glorious than Earth
No risks; nothing fake

The world is a challenge
From birth to the grave
But wondrous and exciting
As we grow love to save

When we look in the mirror
Do we recognise the face?
The person we’ve travelled with
Or someone else in our place?

It’s shocking to learn
That time has flown by
The descent is in process
So, too, an ascent to new life

God promises eternity
In peace, love and joy
So I pray for new sight
To find gold… not alloy

Have we treasure in our field?
Rich harvest from life’s path?
Have we journeyed into darkness,
Looking hard for the world’s star?

Only hope comes from Jesus
All goodness, love and health
He is life and He awaits us
Seek His heart, not this world’s wealth

Let’s think about death
For it surely leads to life
Invest in Heaven’s homeland
Take the Narrow Road, with strife

For Jesus bore a heavy load
Carrying our Cross to wipe out death
Can you see how much He loves us
For in our hearts, He gives us health?

Ask Him to take away
The fear of darkness on that last day
For He blesses with radiant light
And brings us to His wondrous sight
