JUDGE ME NOT – NOV. 2016

So you think you can judge me!
What makes you so sure?
Do you know where I’ve been,
And the paths I have walked?
The highs and the lows,
The darkness and light
Where shadows have fallen
And where light has shone bright?

Do you know all the secrets in the depth of my heart?
Or what lives in the heart of my soul?
And the memories stored from life’s short road
For they have left an indelible mark?

A past and a present, oscillating and creating
Have given me eyes, sharp and clear.
I focus on one Truth - my anchor and guide
Steering me forward; His Spirit, at my side.

How can we discern, with wisdom and love?
With fairness and truth, with knowledge and trust?
There is but one Judge and He is the Son
Given authority from His Father, above.

We make judgements with cold hearts and closed minds
With eyes blinded by fear, pain and jealousy
But Jesus can see into every part of our soul
For He looks at our heart, every fragment, every part.

No one should dread the judgements of man
For God’s plan is salvation and love
His mercy is deep and His wisdom profound
For He is King, with love for a crown.

If we call on His name and seek truth from the heart
With forgiveness and sorrow for sins
If we see that we are in no place to judge
He can heal our broken heart strings

For no one knows our struggles and strife
We don’t know what’s made another’s life
But we do know that Jesus is just
And we know that great is His power,
With judgements made from real love
