Oh God! How You love us! How our sin prevents us from seeing You From finding You From knowing You Yet You know us and You love us. White, bright streaming goodness Flooding creation – all pure, all perfect, all holy Immensely holy, immensely pure Unbelievably believable – For You are God! How we block the light! How we demand to know the Truth when we make no effort To travel that narrow road in search of Life itself – A precious gift, unfathomable reality, love from Love Your perfection is more than we can bear – Your light, so bright it would destroy us in our state of sin: Blemished, saturated, marked, stained But You can cleanse and heal and save! We have no understanding of Your Greatness, Your power, Your energy, Your purity, Your perfection, Your abounding love – All so amazing and alive and drenched in love Deeper, stronger, wiser, higher, brighter, purer, gentler, more real, more Forgiving, more loving – than anything we could imagine For You are God For You are Grace Oh loving God, Father of us all Creator of all that is, and was, and is to come Touch our hearts with Your healing and so cleanse us that we may take baby steps towards You while we can! Open our closed minds Melt our frozen hearts Burn Your light into us and make our darkness, light... Before it is too late. Help us to pray And so, find You. Take away our pride and arrogance, for Truth we strive to deny. Reduce our love of worldly gain to naught That we may see Your incredible beauty and know Your healing love and so, find the gateway to life – true joy, true hope, true freedom Indeed, we are lost sheep, running madly about in a world of vain pursuits! Let the chains that bind us to a world of false promises and lies Fall at our feet So we, in love, can fall at Mercy’s feet and know Your tender care - The precious pearl, found in the quagmire of a passing world The Word, the writer and giver of promises, life from Life And love from Love, and everlasting peace.
