Exultation of the Cross
My Beautiful Son is hanging on the Cross – for you! He did not sin, for He is incapable of sin. But you, you sin and cruelly pierce His flesh. My Son gave up His life for you – only to lay it down, and take it up again, of His own free will. You have free will. You watched Him suffer 2000 years ago…and now that unfathomable suffering continues, as you turn from His glorious Light. You studied His torn human body, lacerated and wounded by hate, wrong judgement, rejection, lies and fear. Could you give Him a drink to quench His thirst – His parched throat, a throat injured by His agonising cries of pain, as you beat Him and took away His life? He said that the Temple would be destroyed and raised up 3 days later – did you realise that He was, He is, that Temple! My Son, on a wooden cross, stabbed by rusty nails and put there by your sins, always in His great mercy, forgives you… when you turn to Him in sorrow. Turn back to Him and be healed. ‘This is My Son, the Beloved; listen to Him.’ He came into the world for this: to teach you, to show you the Father’s love; To free you; to save you… For He, the Holy and Mighty One, loves you!
