BLACKOUT – JAN. 2021

Black out, wipe out, sight out, lights out
Scramble, madness in fear, falling, soaring, warring…
Scoring points, pointless wrangling, task force dangling
And asking why God is resting in the brightness of Heaven’s City on a hill…
As we kill and maim, steal and defame
Roar like lions and cry like babies
For darkness seems so terribly near…so woe is me.
Please tell my heart, for it is breaking apart
 That You are in me,
For I long to be free – in You.

Wipe out this blackout and let Your Son’s light in!
 Blind us with Your love,
For doubt is leading us to a place of fear, where in Darkness stalks.
I’m beginning to yearn incessantly for Your burning love, Lord –
Come near, wipe out fear –
Put Your gracious, loving hands on me - and steer!
