The grey-white clouds hover over the mountain top.
The light is fading; the sun starts to disappear behind the rim.
A plane speeds through the still-blue sky, like a comet
Leaving a white trail, but no sound can be heard.
The trees are motionless, their branches patiently await
The foliage and buds, which are preparing for spring.
All living things feel an excitement brewing!
There is no wind; the silence is shockingly peaceful.
I look to the sky – it mesmerises me –
So, too, the layering of rock on the grassy slopes.
Browns, greys interspersed with the whites and greens.
The February sun has been unusually hot today.
I reflect on the summer heat that will later press us down.
Now, we anticipate growth and blossoming flowers – fragrant and beautiful.
Nature reminds us of our Maker – God of the Universe, God of All.
What a Creator we have, Whose unbelievable creation
Leaves us in awe, in wonder, in disbelief.
He can never disappoint us, for He is Life and Love;
He is Beauty and Power; He is Holy and Perfect.
Do not forget Him, do not deny Him, do not reject Him –
For without Him, Darkness and hopelessness are your only friends.
